frontpage It is our desire to bring to the attention of our readers a matter involving one of our correspondents. An ongoing business disagreement that should have remained internal -- as established and accepted protocols dictate -- has been "taken to the streets" as it were, by our UK colleague. We have chosen not to give his name out of respect, but the respect has not been reciprocal. He and associates have decided to pursue this matter in a way that most would consider unethical and bordering on slander. In fact, he has met two of three requirements for the legal descriptor of slander. Not only have business associates been contacted by email with the intent to impute wrong motive and implying, if not outright suggesting, that it would be in their best interest to discontinue association with us, but letters have been sent as well. This constitutes libel. Further, they chose to reveal confidential email correspondence between us with several of our virtual staff members, among others. As a direct result of this unethical and inappropriate behavior, we chose to terminate any discussions and correspondence with the correspondent or his representatives. We perceive this as an attempt to engage in a willful impediment of business through purposeful intent to degrade. We have not decided at this point whether to pursue this through litigation, as it is our desire to resolve this matter without resorting to that course of action. We maintain the greatest respect for the work of this correspondent, but take the dimmest of views as to the manner he has chosen to pursue resolution. We will resolve this difficulty at the appropriate time. Myron D. Stokes, Publisher
